This easy-going day trip connects three of the most beautiful and iconic places in Czech and Saxon Switzerland. From sandstone labyrinths straight out of a fantasy movie, to a monumental natural arch and the legendary Bastei Bridge – this tour is a perfect introduction to the region’s natural wonders.
What to expact:
We start the day in the village of Tisá, where a short walk from the center leads us to a fascinating rock labyrinth – a sandstone wonderland that served as a filming location for The Chronicles of Narnia. Wandering between narrow passages and towering rock formations, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a fairytale.
After exploring the maze, we drive across the border to Germany and visit the monumental Kuhstall Gate, the largest natural stone arch in Saxon Switzerland. Before our short ascent to this iconic rock formation, we enjoy lunch in a cozy local restaurant nearby.
The grand finale of the day is the world-famous Bastei Bridge, offering jaw-dropping views over the Elbe River and surrounding canyons. A perfect ending to a scenic and inspiring day.
Total lenght 8km/5miles.
Difficulty: easy to moderate
Elevation gain: 370m
Are you ready for a one-day adventure?
Although this tour is more relaxed than others, please note it still takes a full day and includes some walking on hilly or uneven terrain.
Anyone in normal physical condition should have no problem completing the route.
We recommend sturdy hiking shoes and ideally a waterproof jacket.
Your guide can lend you a raincoat or trekking poles at the start of the trip.

An amazing place to visit, it looks like from a fairy tale. Exiting tunnels through the rocks and after reaching the top a stunning view of the open area below. Next time I will bring my grandchildren, a perfect place for someone with children and at the same time exiting things to experience for grown ups . / Alf Olsson, Sweden.
Thank you, Alf. I’m so glad you enjoyed the place and its fairy-tale atmosphere. It will be wonderful to welcome you and your grandchildren next time.

I recently went on a trip with a guide and it was great. I especially have to appreciate her human approach, full of humor. We visited two places in Saxon Switzerland and learned a lot of new and interesting things. We also enjoyed stunning views and lunch break was included. When I have more free time again, I will definitely join another trip.
Thank you Roman for a nice review and see you soon.
